A typical day Marlin fishing...

We leave the mariner at about 0700hrs and travel out to the fishing grounds for live bait. We analyse the best methods for catching fish on that particular day - whether it be lure fishing, or bait fishing.

With Bait Fishing, we use freshly caught live baits, either slow trolling them or by switching to towing teasers until a Marlin is attracted and teased up to the transom of the boat - at which point the teaser is replaced with live or pitch bait.

You get an up and close look at a very excited Marlin waiting to pounce on anything that is dropped into the water - a very exciting moment.

We normally arrive back at the Marina at 1700hrs.

Yellowfin fishing...

We usually troll a selection of proven lures and fish over the shelf around the canyons and seamounts where large Yellowfin tend to prowl. At different times we will drift and 'cube' for Yellowfin. 'Cubing' involves cutting up small pieces of pilchards and forming a berly trail.

The tuna pick up the train and will swim right up to the boat while the angler feeds bait along the berly trails - usually resulting in some awesome hook-ups.
